How To Be Born Again
Are You Ready to Accept the Lord Jesus Christ as Your Savior?

As human beings, by our very nature, we are born sinners. As such, we are unable to enter the Kingdom of Heaven on our own. However, God sent us His only son, Jesus Christ: "For God so loved the world, that He give His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life." John 3:16. If we do not accept Jesus Christ as our savior, we will never reach God's Kingdom when we shed our earthly flesh. "Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by Me." John 14:6.

So, the question is: Are you ready to accept the Lord Jesus Christ as your savior? If you are ready, you will need to be born again.

Why Do I Need to be Born Again?

The classic passage from the Bible that discusses why you must be born again is John 3:1-21. In that passage Jesus is speaking with Nicodemus, a prominent Pharisee and a ruler of the Jews. Jesus said to Nicodemus "...Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, be, cannot see the kingdom of God.' Nicodemus saith unto him, 'How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born?" John 3:3-1. "Jesus answered, 'Verily, verily, I say unto thee., Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God, That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Marvel not. that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.'" John 3:5-7.

How Do I Become Born. Again?

In order to be born again two things must happen. First, you must accept the prompting of the Holy Spirit in your heart. "But as many as received him, to them gave He power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of' the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of' God." John 1 :1 2-1 3.

Second, you must repent (renounce) your sins. This can be done with the help of the pastor or minister of your church----by repeating a sinner's prayer. A sample prayer goes as follows: "God, I know that I have sinned against You and am deserving of punishment. But Jesus Christ took the punishment that I deserve so that through faith in Him I could be forgiven. I place my trust in You for salvation. Thank You for Your wonderful grace and forgiveness—the gift of eternal life! Amen."

What Does it Mean to be Born Again.

The phrase "Born Again" literally means to be "Born from Above" - to be spiritually renewed. Once we are born again we Must try to live a Godly life. We try to live a Godly life. in order to receive all that God has promised us in this life itnd the life to come. "But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you." Matthew 6:33. We live a Godly lift by actively seeking godliness through our actions, "But thou, 0 man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meeknes.." I Timothy 6:11. Additionally, we live a Godly life by rejecting what is false. In I Timothy 1:4 Paul warns Timothy that the masses should "neither give heed to fables and endless genealogies, which minister questions, rather than godly edifying which is in faith: so do." Furthermore, in II Timothy 2:16 Paul warns Timothy to "...shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness."

What Do I Do Once I'm Born Again?

Once you arc born again, it is not enough to rest on your laurels. You first need to find a Bible Believing Church to attend. It is important that the Church be Christ Centered and Spirit Filled in order to do God's work. John 12:32 and John 16:8-11. Secondly, you need to read the Bible every day. As sure as your body cannot live without food, your spirit cannot live without reading the Bible. The Bible is the sword God gave you to help you overcome temptation. Ephesians 6:17. Therefore, you must sharpen your sword every day, by increasing Bible knowledge, so that your sword is always ready to use.

Finally, you must pray every day. Prayer is communicating with Cod. Just like a marriage could not survive without communication, you cannot build a relationship with God without communicating with Him. However, there is a more important reason to pray: because Jesus Christ instructed you to pray. 'Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak." Matthew 26:11. Further you should pray "... always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints." Ephesians 6:18.

What Do I Do If I Sin After Being Born Again?

When you are born again, " ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness." Ephesians 1:24. You are still human though and you will sin again. It is part of your very nature. However, you will be forgiven of your sins through God's grace. Paul spoke about this issue in Romans. "But God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, being now justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him." Romans 5:8-9. God's grace means we will be forgiven for our sins

In order to receive Gods grace., we must confess our sins. If we confess-our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us uur sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." 1 john 1:9.
